Welcome

I thank you for taking the time to check out my hub page.

hi my name is Sergio and I am practicing to become a massage therapist, I am not licensed yet but I am working hard to get it.

I got to a point in my life where, I wanted to help people but I never knew what I wanted. I was in Mexico for a bit I was actually going to stay there but my brother had to get married and i was going to be in the wedding so i had to come down. Not only that I needed to move my stuff. It was very difficult to find a job in Automotive thats what I did before this. I went to UT, after leaving that place I could never get a job. There are many factors involved in all this. No tools no job. Well then I tried going over the road agian, I used to drive OTR (over the road) but my CDL got medically suspended. just another way for them to get more money out of you.

The job never called so, I went and enrolled into school. when I enrolled I relised something there. as an automotive tech you need to buy tools But as a massage thearapist you already own your tools.

So bottom line I guess I found my calling and I'm happy where I'm at right now. I graduate in March 2011. So ill be looking for partners in my investment and sponsors.

The Practice of Massage Therapy

Massage therapists work in a variety of settings, including private offices, hospitals, nursing homes, studios, and sport and fitness facilities. Some also travel to patients' homes or workplaces. They usually try to provide a calm, soothing environment.

Therapists usually ask new patients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results. They may also perform an evaluation through touch, to locate painful or tense areas and determine how much pressure to apply.

Typically, the patient lies on a table, either in loose-fitting clothing or undressed (covered with a sheet, except for the area being massaged). The therapist may use oil or lotion to reduce friction on the skin. Sometimes, people receive massage therapy while sitting in a chair. A massage session may be fairly brief, but may also last an hour or even longer.
